Our friend Doris is resigning her position at Casa Libertad and we are searching for a replacement. The job title is Domestic Manager. I think I might have coined that term. As an alternative to “Caretaker” I think it better describes what we seek.

In a nutshell, the job consists of caring for our property at Numero 7, Circuito Libertad, La Penita, Nayarit, Mexico.

The number one priority of the Domestic Manager is the security of the property. Other duties include maintance cleaning when no one is in residence at the house and daily cleaning when the house is occupied. This is about 50% of the time. The DM does small repairs as they are able and arranges other minor and major work if needed. The DM arranges the delivery of natural gas and potable water when it is needed. The DM keeps household acccounts and pays utility bills, does some laundry and yard work.

We are looking for a single person, content in their singularity, either sex, any age and any nationality who is in good mental and physical health.

Inevidably, the job will morph around the person hired and our changing circumstances.

Besides the salary, benefits include an unfurnished one bedroom, caretaker bungalow all utilites included plus internet, three weeks paid vacation, Christmas bonus and IMSS health care cost.

It seems like the position should also require at the least, bi-lingual applicants - no?

Otherwise how will the DM communicate with the locals and arrange repairs?
