| belize's current leaderThe government of Belize takes the form of a parliamentary democracy within the British commonwealth. Belize became independent in Sept. 2001 but the dispute between Guatemala and the Great Britain still remains unresolved.Guatemala which has made claims on the territory since the 19th century has refused to recognize this. Although the dispute between Guatemala and the Great Britain remains unresolved, Guatemala recognized Belize's sovereignty in 1991. |
| I can see how Belize values its own history. One of the issues tackled in the history was about Belize politics. I need some information regarding the parliamentary democracy held by the Belize government. You mentioned that the sovereignty of Belize was recognized by Guatemala in 1991. Did Guatemala play a great part in the history of Belize? I know this needs larger space to explain. But I appreciate anybody who can help. |
