Although I do not currently reside in Bz., I do know that about everyone and his uncle sells real estate. The sale of property is not regulated, and no particular accreditation is necessary. I have come to understand though, that you would first need to become a resident of Belize in order to do about anything in order to earn declared income, and there is a protocol to that. It involves paying monthly visitor fees until you put in the necessary year to become a resident, and can take quite some months after that to have everything processed. Sorry I haven't the link handy to tell you of all the gov't hoops, but I am sure you can find out easily if you google it. Good luck, and good fortune.

Hello everyone. I am very interested in moving to belize. I've been to belize on three prior occasions, most recently in 2005. If anyone knows about work or anything like that, please contact me with some information.

Here are some Brazil career options:

Teaching Jobs with TEFL International

Teach English in Belize! Obtain TEFL/TESOL Certification and Get Paid to Work Overseas!

Sail Caribbean Scuba Instructor/Trip Leader Bahamas & Belize

Sail Caribbean Tropical Marine Science Instructor Bahamas & Belize

Note: The first the to consider about Belize employment is what industry you will be working in. Accounting? Real Estate? Personal Finance or Banking? These are all high demand careers in Belize. Why? More and more North American companies are choosing to relocate financial assets to offshore Caribbean and Central American countries. The offshore accounts of these companies often have favorable tax treatment and are sometimes not taxed at all. Therefore finding jobs in these industries in Belize is becoming easier every day as the country expands.

For those who wants to have a Job in Belize

If you are not a 'Permanent Resident' in Belize, you will need a 'Work Permit' to legally work for yourself or for someone else. The permits are good for one year and cost from $500 - 600 BZ. "Self-employment" permits are by far the easiest to obtain, as you will most likely be viewed as someone with a business that will in fact create jobs and employ local Belizean's. General Work Permits must be applied for by your prospective employer. That employer will have to prove that they have been unable to find a current local resident to fill the position before a permit will be issued.

To obtain a work permit in Belize, the employer and the prospective employee must fill out an application form at the Department of Labor. Three passport pictures and a valid passport are required along with the application. If self-employed you can apply in person.
