We are looking at moving to Belize in the very near future with our 1 year old son. Our priorities are safety, availability of shopping for baby/toddler items, and internet access for staying in touch with family in the US. We do not plan to have a car for a while at least. Distance from an airport for visiting family and a quiet location are not deal breakers but are still important.

Can anyone provide us with some advice or leads?

Thanks!

You might want to consider living on the island of Ambergris Caye. It is more expensive than the mainland, but it is very safe and the ocean breeze makes it less hot than living on the mainland. Baby items are readily available on the island, but if you wish to travel to the mainland it is $20 U.S. per person. If you are looking to buy a place, I have a condo for sale. You can contact me at jerrythelocke@yahoo.com to ask more questions.

We are looking at moving to Belize in the very near future with our 3 children that are in primary school.

We are looking for information about: immigration/work permits for expats, internet access, medical care, education, locations for housing with safety and kid friendly areas in mind with the mind to purchase a house or land, insurance needs or requirements for health, auto, and home. Basically I need to find out everything I can about moving a family of 5 from the US to Belize.

Also can I bring my pets?? Is there some type of regulation(s) for them to enter Belize??

Can anyone provide us with any advice or leads?

Thanks!

US Family of 5
