Are CRNAs Certified Nurse Anesthetists used in the hospitals in Belize or M.D. anesthetists?

I was wondering what kind of jobs I could find in Belize? Is it easy to find a job? If I were moving there would there be career oppurtunities for me?

You people need to get real. If the locals might make about a buck an hour... what do you expect?

i worked in the health care field but i don't think Belize needs some workers that re from other country. i believe they still need to give their own native a work of their own. or not? I really dont know what im saying haha.

what i mean is, hey people, before Belize give us work, they will first give it to their own natives, of which i know has a high percentage of unemploymnt.

That is the first problem most expats will have when trying to get a new in a foreign country. Their employer will need to prove to immigration that a local can't do the job.

Secondly, one moving from say the USA to Belize will find an extreme difference in wages.

If a belizean buys a property in belize city, pays for half the selling cost (35, 000 bz) to the vendor then monthly for the balance could this person immediately finance the purchase of his/her leased land, once it has been surveyed, with a loan from a credit union using the first land purchase as collateral and pay off the credit union loan at a rate of 200bz per month with 1% annual interest. The second land purchase, as mentionned, would be leased land, whereas the first land purchase would also generate revenue since there is an existing structure situated within the city. For how long and how much would the bank loan to this person be so that the original 35, 000 could be paid while construction was being undertaken on the yet to be surveyed leased land for which the paperwork has not yet been finalized since the lease was applied for in november 07? The purchaser expects a credit union loan of 50, 000bz.The business to be built on the leased land would be automobile parts sales and service.

You all make it sound like Belize is poor? Is that what your saying? I really dont understand what your talking about.

Comment #7 Ever D. Oubtful (63.176.159.31) -

That is the same thing that is running on my head here Fred. At some of their discussion they are trying to emphasize that if one is from the United States and is migrating to Belize then he'll have a hard time adjusting with the wages and salary in the country. So ergo, Belize is a poor country, is that what you are saying?

Hi-

We are considering moving to Belize, but were told non-citizens cannot work for their first year there. Is there an exception for RNs or LPNs? Do these professions make a living wage for the area (I don't care what number the salary is, as long as it is enough to survive.) Thanks for any input!

Claire

Is that true that non-citizens of Belize cannot work the first year that they live there?

Interested in working as an RN in Belize. Realistic views on a US citizen traveling to Belize to work appreciated.

Without no coubt, I am sure Belize will offer firsty priority to job seekers from within its boundaries. I bet that if you are looking for a job, the best chance you stand is if you are able to employ other people.

What is the difference between the two kinds of anethetists you have talked about? No one seems to be pondering over the issue

Here is what I got from the net:

Most recently Belize (former Britigh Honduras), a small country in Central America, has come under intensive scrutiny by some international media. The result was an increased influx of American and European expatriates. Some of them found the country beautiful, some didn't. What does Belize really look like? Why do some see this country as a paradise on earth and why do others prefer to get away and never get back?

Belize is a very small country without major industries. It collects its incomes putting an accent on the import duties instead of income taxes. These small facts explain why some things look so bizarre compared to the other countries. For some foreigners it's suprising why they have to look for days even weeks to get some building nails or a certain kind of auto part, and why this stuff is so expensive. The answer is that these parts have to be imported, as well as the bags of cement for the new construction, and that the import duties are high.

"Registered Nurse"

I am an RN looking to move to Belize. Would like factual feedback regarding process of transferring, licensing, pay scales vs. cost of living and so on.

Thank you
