my husband is from the corozal area. a village outside. i don't know of very many remodeling businesses because most of the people know of or can do their own work. i do have a friend from corozol who is in illinois now and heading back soon. he is in the same business so he might be someone to talk with. if you are interested let me know exactly what you would like to know about and i can forward this on to him.

Corozol Town is a town in the nation of Belize. It is the capital of Corozol District. Corozol Town is located about 84 miles north of Belize City, and 9 miles from the border with Mexico. This are some info that i got after browsing the net.

Corozal is a modest but striving town in Belize. You havbe plenty of good, hard-working, pleasant people there and is a great place to raise a family. I added a nice web site with plenty of info for you. Take care and regards.

It seems all evidence points to you having an easy time in Corozal town. There are many resources that you will find online and which will give you plenty of information. Even the Wikipedia nowadays gives you a detailed overview of a country's specifics. Corozal with Spanish pronounciation Koosal, is a municpality of Puerto Rico located in the central-eastern region north of Corocovis and Barranquitas south Vega Alta southwest of Toa Alta, east of Morovis and orocovis and west of Naranjito

If you do a detailed search from the online resources, you will not miss a blog or two specifically addressing the nature of things in Corozal town. It should be easy talking to people from the town especially in the event that you perhaps want to delve into investment.
As Mike has strongly indicated, the people are good, friendly and approachable so you might soon be on your way to making the big step of moving there.

So why retire in Belize?Known in travel circles as "Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret", Belize is truly a tropical paradise. An exotic tropical paradise that now opens it's doors to all your dreams of new experiences.
Everyone around the world dreams about coming to an exotic tranquil locale, complete with sun-drenched beaches and limitless recreational activities on land and in beautiful tropical waters. Belize boasts all this and more not only for the retiree but for the entire family. Belize is well known as a travel destination around the world and this is attributed to primarily the lower cost of living, our tropical climate and the official language of Belize being English. Belize prides itself in providing schools with high academic standards and a reputation for excellence, good health care facilities, historic homes, convenient local shopping and most importantly warm and welcoming neighbors.

I am sure that information on Corozal is not very hard to find. If one were to do a deep enough search, nearly anything could be found on the web.

Yea that would be great information to have, as Belize is one of those countries that is simply known for its violence and such. Tourists, beware. It's a lovely country, but it can indeed be dangerous.
Comment #14 Daniel D. (63.176.159.199) - 01/04/10 22:59
I think there is more danger here than in Belize. If people believes that Belize is a dangerous then why do the thousands of visitors still continues to pour the country every year.
Comment #15 Monica (63.176.159.225) - 01/27/10 20:49
Yeah, and one reason why people are flocking the country is because of its natural beauty that is very much appreciated by many. I myself would want to visit the country. And if I have the chance to do so, I would certainly be in Belize in no time. But anyway, to think that there are crimes in any part of the country, you would still want to travel and go for the nicest places on earth.

"Information needed"
My husband & I are planning a visit to Belize soon - hopefully in April. We are interested mostly in staying in the Corozal area as we will be "trying it on or size". We are looking to invest in property in the future. We would like to meet other couples who have invested in vacation properties or have relocated altogether to Corozal. What is the best airport to fly into in order to make our way to Corozal? What is the best and safest way to travel from place to place (is there public transportation - is is safe and reliable, or do we need to rent a car, etc.) What hotels are recommended? Any other information would be greatly apprreciated. Thanks

"corozal town"
We have recently moved to Corozal from the U.S. I was in real estate and property development and property management for 30 years. Would be happy to share our experience and viewpoints on "investment" property in Belize.

That would be very nice of you sigmund sharing such useful information. I would want to also learn about those kinds of information, would you mind posting here some good real estate tips since you said you are in business for thirty years now. Anyway, just keep those posts coming in, they are really of good help to those people who have lots of questions in mind. Thanks a lot and have a nice day.

I would like to move to Corosal, Belize to paint the beautiful Flora in that area. How difficult would it be to move and live there.

"corozal"
Real estate "tips" - do not do business over the internet. Real estate agents and agencies do not require any type of licensing in Belize. Most are self crowned "experts". Expert at attempting to part you from your money. Come to areas of interest and have a look around. Get to know the local citizenry. There are two prices - Gringo prices and Belizean prices. Many Real Estate agents are merely trying to middle on behalf of large developments with land for sale - roads? electricity? flooding? water? - not to worry!

"Retiring to Belize"
Moving to Belize and starting a business or retiring can be quite easy, as long as you know the ins and outs as well as what to expect. Starting a business is easier than trying to get a work permit, though it can be a pretty big risk, depending on how you go about it. Retiring can be easy too, Belize even has a Retirement Program (QRP) with several incentives to draw retirees and snow birds to the country. The biggest thing you'll need is patience, as Belize has a much slower pace of life than most are used to.Check out Paradise Hunter's articles for lots of information on this sort of stuff. Hope this helps!
