In 1969 I met a Belizian artist named Belisle. I have several of his small postcard sketches, but would like to see some of his paintings. Does anyone know where any of his work is shown?
Please email me. Thanks. w.j. cj109@ncf.ca

Do you happen to know his full name?

What kind of painting does belisle do? Do you have any other information about that painting artist? when I tried searching his name on the net there are no response but company names. Is there any date engraved in the painting, location or place? It is so hard to search people in the net knowing only his name, or are you sure it is a name or an alias? Try searching the net for your self if you want though.

Leroy Clark of Trinidad and Tobago is also a very good artist. View his work online at using Google.

That is close to four decades ago. Unless you have been keeping a tab on his progress, I am not certain that it would easy accessing his work.Online searches do not seem to be availing much so why not get more details like his full names and so on.
Generally Belize art specializes on ethnic art from the Caribbean and beyond.
All the best in your search nonetheless.

Since these names have the name of the artist in question, you can use that as a lead to finding more about his work? Have you tried to follow that up? It is highly likely that his work might have been archived in some museum or art gallery for future generations to behold. The few pieces of work that you may come across would be duplicates. Good luck

The natural environment of Belize goes hand in hand with its mix of cultures. Sentimental artists wishing to capture nature in its very form will find the place a wonderful haven of ideas. The landscape has also been used by Belize artists to attempt to protect Belize's treasures.Just out of curiosity, is there a place where paintings from artists of old have been preserved. It is unlikely that you would easily walk into a living painter's studio

If you met him in 1969, do you think he is still alive as of today? Anyways, the best thing for you to do is to google search on his name and probably the title of some of his masterpiece/paintings (if there is any) that could lead you to where he is right now. If he ventured well in that kid of business in paintings for sure he has posted several of his new paintings on the web.,

1969 is such a very long time ago? Can you tell us how old were you or Belisle during those times? In case that he is still alive, then maybe you can try searching his name on the net or at any social networks. Or better yet, try cepeta's advice. If he excels well in his craft then maybe one of his work got published in one of the art sites on the net.

Have to suggest that also, maybe your friend from a long time ago might have a social networking account, and manages to join in to some forum like this one. Let us just hope that Belisle have an access to the internet, you know, more of the times people who are a little old tend to decline the thought of using computers. They find it a little not into their age anymore.

Surely, there are very many older individuals that would consider themselves as being too old to be a part of this computerized age, there is no doubt about it.

Still, however, there are very many individuals that are able to find themselves very much enveloped in the computerized atmosphere and can do so, even at their tender, old ages.
